About us

Since relaunching in 2017, the Monash Medical Research Students’ Society (MRSS) has been very busy, working on various initiatives that aim to:

  • promote research opportunities to Monash medical students
  • equip medical students with research skills
  • advocate for those already undertaking research
  • provide extra-curricular research-oriented education and mentorship

We are a subcommittee of the Monash University Medical Students Society (MUMUS), and behind the scenes we have a passionate team of medical students who are always looking for your advice, comments and suggestions!

Each year, MRSS also runs events for students at all stages of research involvement and interest, including:

  • information nights on the many ways to be involved in research as a medical student, including BMedSc(Hons) and MD-PhD pathways
  • journal clubs
  • networking events
  • opportunities to develop research skills, such as research coding
