2023 Research in Medical School: Info & Networking Night

Last night, we held our annual “Research in Medical School” information night, where Monash medical students across all year levels have the opportunity to learn about the various avenues for involvement in research during the medical degree. This was also the first year where we trialled a hybrid delivery model—we were joined by over 60 students in person, and another 80 through Zoom. Thank you to all those who attended on the night!
Of course, this night would not have been possible without our five expert guest speakers who, very generously, shared both their time and their wisdom with us. Thank you again to:
  • Professor Megan Wallace, Director of Medical Student Research for the Faculty of Medicine
  • Josephine Owen, 2022 BMedSc(Hons) Alumnus and current MD-PhD Student
  • Professor Terry O’Brien, Chair of Medicine (Neurology) and Head at Central Clinical School, Monash University
  • Marcel Chee, current Fifth-Year Medical Student
  • Professor Peter Ebeling, Head of the Department of Medicine at the School of Clinical Sciences, Monash University

If you weren’t able to make it and would like to hear some of our speakers’ insights and research experiences, we’ve got you covered! Click here for a recording of the presentations, and here for the slides used on the night.
